Osman Rashid is a British born artist of Turkish Cypriot descent who works with mixed media, including sculpture, painting and drawing. Osman’s art is inspired by his imagination, experiences and environment. He uses these inspirations to express himself through both large 3D installations and small scale work.

Osman’s work aims to explore humour through art to make the works more accessible to people from non-art backgrounds. From different scales, to a mix range of colours, the work aims to create irony among the contrasting imagery. Osman hopes to bring a positive energy to the viewer, and create a light-hearted lenses into the space, especially in a world of uncertainties.

Coming back to education after a hiatus, Osman’s time at University of the Arts London has enabled him to push his work further, developing technical skills essential for the large 3D work he creates. These skills have been refined through his experience in multiple exhibitions, and have provided him with the resources and knowledge to play with his concepts even more- creating challenging and interactive work for viewers.
